Asha Daniel - Founder
Asha Daniel’s journey into the world of handlooms began serendipitously in 2020 when she joined a group of handloom enthusiasts. As an Image Consultant and certified Life Coach with over 21 years of corporate experience, Asha has always had a keen eye for style and elegance. However, it was the heartfelt stories of traditional weavers that truly captivated her. Realizing the challenges faced by these artisans, Asha was inspired to improve their livelihoods. Her deep-rooted belief in sustainable living and her dedication as a Rotarian drive her to create lasting, positive change in these communities. “I’ve always believed in the power of mindful choices,” she says. “Through conscious consumption, we can make a significant impact on the environment and the lives of those around us.

Sharmista Raha - Curator, North
With over 10 years of experience in curating sarees from different weaving clusters Sharmista's first vision of handlooms is her grandmother in starched cotton zari bordered sarees which she has still preserved. Her mother was more into silks but had the creative bent and created her sarees. she would use dads old dhoti to block print on them or hand paint on them and convert them into sarees. She grew up in the hills of north east where people draped nothing else but the clothes from their own looms. it is thus natural for her to be passionate about handlooms and handcrafted items.they are our legacy, our culture.
